Deep Work by Cal Newport sounds like an old guy ranting and he is absolutely right (summary and review)
Well it lacks practical advice. A great book for sure, but it misses the opportunity of really helping people by providing a simple and extensive set of checklists to go through. The book is basically a rant from this guy who blames social media on everything, and he is so damn right!
This is the book I am talking about:
Yeah I read a book about "not using iPads" on an iPad. Or at least that was what I was thinking about the book before reading it.
Turns out that it's not technically a book about not using iPads, it's a book about work, deep work. And you can do deep work on an iPad too. The point here is to not take an "any benefit mindset", but to be able to understand what advantages you can have with different tools and methods and how to notice them. It's a shift towards a Goal Driven Mindset from the IPMA ICB 4.0 (International Project Management Association) with a Pareto's Law twist.
